There's only one type (aside from the helms) which is insigna armor. This was changed in an update a while back.
FoW armor is only worth it if you, personally, think it looks good. I have FoW on my male ele, since I felt it was one of the few armors that didn't make him look like a complete idiot. FoW is NOT worth it if you want to show off your "E-peen" though... because A) half the warriors out there have FoW armor dyed black, and B) most people will accuse you of either ebaying or having no life. When I see someone with FoW it doesn't make me respect them anymore. But if they truly think it looks good than that's good for them.
Personally, I think Male Warrior FoW makes you look like a bloated tin can. If you mix some of the armor pieces with other armor sets you can get some attractive looks though. You can check the warrior/armor combo threads in the screenshot forum for some examples.

I have a set for my Male Mesmer. I've never been called an Ebayer (I get nods for being both classy and fugly though.)
Key is to play how you want to play. Honestly, after doing two sets (one for each brother), farming bores me solid.

Lol - thats why i spend the 1.3 mil (the cost back then) for my ele's FoW as well! Only way to make a male ele look less daft!
You need to make up your mind as to where to spend you hard earned $ - rare skinned weapons or armor. Not much else to spend it on imo.
If you haven't made the money to pay for it yet, you need to determine if the result is worth the time spend farming.
Cheers!

Gone are the days when having FoW meant something.
Just get it if you think it looks cool. Watch ecto/shard prices/trends if you want to get it as cheap as you can.

Once all the gwen weapons/armor sets have surfaced, you can look at alllll the stuff there is in the game and be fairly sure that nothing else is gonna pop up later down the road that you like more than fow armor. Then, if you still like it more than everything else, there's no expansion hanging over head pushing you to save up. Spend spend spend!

best lookin obsidian armour to me is paragon. since most of his other armour are slightly on the homo-erotic side with nipples and stuff, the obsidian is decent for them. ele looked ok.. nothing amazing. most others are not worth it for me anyways.
only question you need to ask yourself is "do I love this armour?" who cares if some people your never gonna meet think it's cool, if you love that armour, work on it.

I'm in the sae delema. Back when it was worth something I wanted it because I guess it was kind of a PvE statement that said, he probable knows what hes doing. I guess I figured it had the same personal meaning as a title does today.
Now it is getting more and more common escpecially on Warriors. IMO none of it really has the "looks" to spend all that money on. The Monk looks the best IMO. The rest are kind of like meh. I think it was just designed as an arour set that said "Yeah ive been here a while."
I have all my ecto saved up almost and half my shards. I was gonna get it for my ranger. The ranger fow looks OK, just plain fugly to lots of people but I kinda just want to have it.
